Blackberrys focuses on smaller towns, to open 30-35 stores by end of fiscal

The menswear brand is planning to open 30-35 stores by the fiscal end targeting more on tier I and tier II cities. The brand is also slated to launch its second private label brand by next year.

As part of their yearly plan to open 60-70 stores, Menswear brand Blackberrys plans to open 30-35 more stores by March 2018. The scaling plans focus on opening stores more in tier I and tier II towns. After its private label brand for denim, Urban, the brand has revealed its plan to launch another brand for Khaki merchandises.

Talking to Retail4growth, Ramesh Kaushik, Vice President – Brand Experience, Blackberrys, explained, “We are looking at horizontal and vertical expansion – looking more stores in India and withi existing cities respectively. Looking at the rapid growth of consumerism in smaller towns of India, fuelled by e-commerce and digital media, we are looking at major expansion in tier I and tier II cities. our next store launches are slated for cities like Siliguri, Guwahati and Ambala. With the largest number of company-operated stores in length and breadth of the country, we are now evaluating possibilities to scale up through franchisee mode.”
