Brazilian casual footwear brand'West Coast' forays into Indian market

The brand is presently available with fashion chains Shoppers Stop and Lifestyle and will be made available through online stores like Myntra and Jabong in the Indian market.

West Coast Shoe Company, the Brazilian casual footwear brand has recently entered the Indian market and is being made available in the lifestyle chain Shoppers Stop all over India and is also being launched in e-commerce portals like Myntra and Jabong for the Indian customers. The objective of the brand is to reinforce the exclusivity of its product portfolio, through 3 main drivers: Worker, Work & Play and Modern Lifestyle. The brand has collaborated with Metmill Footwear Pvt. Ltd. for their Indian operations.

Founded by Paulo Roberto Schefer in 1987, the brand has a distinctive range of men’s casual shoes range. Paulo, CEO of the company shares with Retail4Growth, “Our brand is majorly targeted at the youth of this nation aged between 25-35 years especially, but whoever is a worker may be a photographer, sportsman, biker, fashionist or an adventurer everyone is our potential customer. We believe that India has a great potential for such lifestyle product and from this market we have great expectations. Apart from being present in the physical retail chains we will also look at major online portals for the retail distribution of our product”.

“The brand is in talks with other chains as well for retailing and in the future will also look at opening the EBO’s here in India for West Coast,” mentions Nirav Sunil Shah, CEO Metmill Footwear Pvt. Ltd. “The casual look, quality, price point and style will set us apart from other competitors in this market. We will be looking at partners here who will understand the DNA of the brand which is giving a casual look to your entire style quotient.
