The kiosk is user friendly and focuses on a free flow of customer interaction.

Chamki, the nail art brand, recently unveiled a kiosk in Garuda Mall Bangalore. Developed and Conceptualised by Nickelxd, the current installation is in the "beauty section”, on the second floor of the shopping hub.

While describing the creative interpretation of the brief Nikhil Baveja, Principal Founder, Nickelxd shares, "The brief given to us was to create a unique and attractive design that is adaptive from small to large formats. We created a design that would start from a 5'x5' kiosk and be adaptable to a lounge format of approximately 1500 sq ft. Nail art being artistic and highly skilled technique, we approached the design from an out of the box perspective. We didn't want to create merely a functional environment, but a fun, interactive and inviting and different space. We designed a nail "Art” studio, primarily in white, simply because a neutral color such as this would be like a blank canvas on which all the beautiful products would be highlighted. The spotlight of the space are the two "Play-Stations” designed like easels. These are interactive display pieces where the customer can feel free to try out nail colors on her own with samples provided, and if she likes she can choose and pick up sets of nail colors from the display counter provided in front. There is also a personalized area where we have service personnel attending to customers over the counter one on one. Lastly, an off-white wooden flooring binds the space together and gives it a sense of warmth as well.”

The kiosk is user friendly, open for free flow of customer interaction. Displays are visible from all four sides and product is available at various sections of the kiosk so that there is no crowding, causing an even distribution of products to the customers. Adequate storage is given and products are all lock-able but visible at all times.  It is a 10'x10' space. Fixture area is approximately 50% and circulation 50%. The materials used are duco paint, plywood, MDF, brushed steel laminate, glass, acrylic and titanium brass.

On zoning and props Nikhil further shares, "The space is divided into two areas primarily. One section is the "play station” section and the other is customer service area where the customer can receive personalized nail art application. POS is situated in a centralized location.”

Two attractive easels are provided for trying out nail polish art with a graphic giving the product range/sets as well as offering  a demo n on how one can apply it on one's nails. If the person so wishes to have her nail done by a personal assistant, she can do so at the sit-down counters. The kiosk is open and accessible from all sides. There is clear visibility of and accessibility to all products which are visible even during the non-operational hours.”

Approximately ten such kiosks are planned in the coming year by Chamki.
