Decathlon opens its largest store in India at Pacific Mall, New Delhi

Large format sports good retailer from France, Decathlon opened its largest store in India at west Delhi’s popular Pacific Mall, Tagore Garden. The 15th standalone store in the country spanning across 12,600 sq ft opened its door during the weekend amidst exciting events and offers. Abhishek Chowdhury, Department Manager – Running, Decathlon India, informed, “Decathalon caters to over 100 sports under one roof. The basic motive of the launch event was to share a wow experience with the visitors making sports accessible to all. The grand opening of Decathlon, Tagore Garden is certainly an event which every sports fanatic should catch up on.” The store also aims at organizing different co-curricular activities, catering to all age groups. Events like Freestyle Football Show, Table Tennis Tournament, Skateboard Stunt Show, dance, Zumba and aerobics programs will be part of future campaigns of the store. Decathlon, which has more than 850 stores in 22 countries, entered Indian market in 2009. The store today has 47 points of sale including 15 standalone stores in the country.
