EVOK introduces franchisee model for modular kitchens

With plans to launch 17 mega stores across the country, the brand aims to raise the market share from 15% to about 25% in the modular kitchen market by FY '13-14.

EVOK, a premium home interiors & décor brand is introducing a'Franchisee Model Investment' opportunity in the North and South of India with 17 mega format stores across the country. The'Franchisee Model', will focus only on Modular Kitchens and on markets such as Agra, Meerut, Jalandhar, Bhopal & Patna in Phase I, which will begin from the end of this year. This will be followed by phase II for the South. EVOK targets developing 10 -12 locations for FY '13-14.
 
With an investment of Rs. 25 to 30 lakh and a retail space of 1000 to 1200 Sq.ft, EVOK's franchisee  model is aimed at strengthening its retail footprint in the country as well a provide entrepreneurial opportunities in the targeted cities. These will be small format stores emphasizing only on kitchens, which will enable them to deliver a personalized service to educate and create awareness about Modular Kitchens.
 
Speaking about this, Ajay Seth, COO, EVOK, said, "A franchisee model in the modular furniture industry is a first by EVOK. At present the modular kitchen industry is around INR 2000 crore and witnessing an impressive 25% growth YOY, fuelled by demand from non-metro towns. And, India's franchising industry too is poised for immense growth in the next five years and retail will be one of the key sectors in its progress. We aim to capitalize on these opportunities and are investing heavily to provide franchisor support and impart knowledge for the entire business project, from site selection, installation, training & promotions.” Adding further he said, "The aim is to improve our market share from 15% to around 25% in the modular kitchen market by FY 13-14 but it will be important to maintain EVOK's premium quality imagery and service thus the selection process for a franchisee partner will be stringent.”
