Heaven on Earth Wellness & Serena Spa merge to form retail spa chain from India

The merger ensures that Heaven on Earth Wellness is now the biggest wellness entity from India that has established firm footprints in India and internationally. They aim to further strengthen their presence with additional 20 spas across the globe by end of 2017.

Heaven on Earth, India's biggest airport spa chain and Serena Spa, one of the oldest spa companies in Asia recently announced their merger. Serena Spa has more than 15 years of spa experience with 21 spas across India, Maldives and Seychelles while Heaven on Earth has over 8 years of spa experience with 19 spas in India and Spain. The merger ensures that Heaven on Earth Wellness is now the biggest wellness entity from India that has established firm footprints in India and internationally. The combined worth of the merged entity is INR 20 crores.

On this Ashish Singh - CEO, Heaven on Earth who will oversee the operations and integration of the two companies said, "I look forward to working with the Serena team. We will be bringing the two businesses together and intend to be fully integrated within the next two to three months ensuring a seamless experience for all present and future customers.”    

The merger is effective from January 2016.The new parent company has formally introduced HoE Wellness Pvt. Ltd with 40 wellness locations across the globe. The existing businesses of both the companies on a single platform will create a global organization that will focus on enhancing the overall wellness quotient. With the current investment of INR 40 crores and a future investment of INR 20 to 30 crores,  the organization is poised for growth and expansion in India and international destinations. The merger will also see an investment in research and innovation that will further develop the training, quality and product development of the company.

Among other future integrations, the training activities and creating a full-fledged in-house training academy is also on the cards.

Jesper Hougaard, Managing Director, Serena Spa who will continue to be closely involved as Executive Director of the merged entity said, "We are extremely elated at the multitude of opportunities that this merger offers for global expansion, concept development and new levels of spa experiences.”

The brand will undergo a joint branding and concept evolution, where the three distinct brands will be clearly identified for different market segments having unique offerings: Serena Spa (luxury segment), Spa Express (airport and hospital spas) and Spazure (day spas). Serena Spa will continue to have its premium luxury segment, Spazure will be for the business class and like the name Heaven on Earth Spa Express will be for travellers who are pressed for time and seek relaxation on-the-go.
