Each nuanced element of the store will essay the journey of ISHARYA - from an interactive in-house installation, to key décor features inspired by coveted collections.

Global fashion jewellery label ISHARYA recently launched its first flagship store in Mumbai. Founded by Gauri Tandon and Radhika Tandon in 2004, cross-cultural fashion jewellery label ISHARYA, fuses India’s vibrant heritage with California chic, commemorating its 14th anniversary in August 2017. Conceptualised by renowned architect, Bill Bensley, the studio showcases the brand’s creativity and technological innovation. The key décor features inspired by coveted collections at the store, for instance, includes an intricate metallic filigree lattice grill of the brand’s logo which encases the door. The marble flooring has brass inlay with detailing in the style of druzy-cut agate semi-precious stones, one of the unique materials seen in ISHARYA jewelry. The window display of the studio features a prominent and contemporary brass spike inspired by ISHARYA’s ‘Filigree Spoke’ collection and is an interesting juxtaposition of tradition and modernity. The antique wall mirrors use hand-cut polki mirrors – a significant material used in many ISHARYA designs. The ventilation covers are reminiscent of the Hampi Collection; its structure designed like the ancient step-wells of the UNESCO heritage site.

“We always knew our first retail outlet would be close to our roots, and so we suitably chose Mumbai’s eclectic neighbourhood of Bandra. We wanted a world-class look and vibe for our space ¬¬– much like our designs – and the studio aptly reflects ISHARYA’s design journey,” says Co-Founder & Creative Head, Gauri Tandon.

Radhika Tandon, Co-Founder & Head of Global Marketing, Branding & Business Development adds, “We’ve sold at exclusive retailers around the world and increasingly (in the last three years), noted high engagement levels for our campaigns, upward website sales and have actively scaled our outreach. This naturally felt like the next step.”

The opening of the brand’s flagship Mumbai also saw the unveiling of the new ‘The Bombay Deco Collection’ , ISHARYA’s first rose-gold and mirror collection - inspired by the sculptural composition of the Art Deco and Jazz movement of the 1930’s in Bombay.
