Metro Shoes joins hands with Crocs to open exclusive outlets

Debuting into a strategic partnership with Crocs shoes, home-grown multi-brand footwear label Metro Shoes plans to extend its retail footprint across the nation.

Leading footwear brand Crocs announced that it has joined hands with Metro Shoes Ltd. as their National Retail Partner to roll out its stores in India with plans to open 100 exclusive outlets in three years. Metro Shoes has invested around INR 40 crore and is expecting sales target of over INR 100 crore during this period. The newly formed strategic partnership leverages Metro Shoes' understanding of the region, brand experience, and proven success at helping brands grow to expand the Crocs footprint in India. Metro Shoes currently has a national presence of over 300 stores, operating in 90 cities.

Explaining more on the partnership and retail expansion plan, Farah Malik, MD and CEO, Metro Shoes Ltd, said, "We plan to open 75 new stores in different formats across India in the current financial year.  We are also looking forward to clock INR 1060 crore revenue this fiscal, up from INR 917 crore last year. Also our e-commerce site, www.metroshoes.net is growing 200 - 250% on a year on year basis.”

Metro Shoes' robust growth and accomplishments can be attributed to a smart mix of opening stores in catchment areas, using the 'company-owned' model of expansion and offering discerning consumers a proposition that connects quality and affordability. "Staying ahead of the fashion curve is equally important with the variety and price options consumers now have a choice of. The core philosophy being delighting a customer when they walk into the store or click the mouse on the website to make a purchase or enquiry,” Farah added.
