RLT plans big on connecting lighting infrastructure to other in-store IoT devices to offer value addition.

Mumbai-based retail lighting manufacturer and technology company Retail Light Techniques (RLT) has brought a new ecosystem for retail environments involving lighting as one of the three modules. The cutting edge technology will help retailers manage the whole process from backend store operations like HVAC, Lighting, Refrigeration and other in-store services to understand in-store metrics. Neulicth, a new range of lighting brought from Germany will also be part of the ecosystem.

Explaining more on the system, Hari Ramachandran, CEO, RLT, told Retail4growth, “We are working on some cutting edge products and technology with our technology partners based in the US, UK and India to ensure that the customer has a 360 degree feedback - be it from the store operations at the backend - HVAC, Lighting, Refrigeration and other in-store services, and also the business metrics that enable the Store/Brand to Cross sell products, understand customer behaviour on App/Website/In-Store seamlessly, in-store metrics in terms of time spent by customers at various points in the store - sale per sq.ft - margin per sq.ft etc., enabling the customer to make informed decisions and choices.”

Talking on the retail lighting trends and how RLT is keeping up with it, Ramachandran added, “In addition, we are also working on some new age ideas where every element in the store can actually talk to the IT backbone in the store and hook up directly to the customers backend store and supply chain too. With the advent of IT and Digital communication players into lighting as a domain, we are only at the beginning of a revolution where Lighting is moving from IES to IEEE.”
