Snapdeal to sell car, bikes through new platform

Offers customers an integrated buying experience enabling online booking along with loan approvals within two minutes of the vehicle purchase

Online market place giant Snapdeal on Wednesday unveiled an exclusive automobile platform - Snapdeal Motors - that offers its customers an integrated buying experience enabling online booking along with loan approvals within two minutes of the vehicle purchase.

"On this platform, customers will be able to browse through a variety of automobile options/variants, avail of test drives, book online and choose from a host of easy financing options and documentation support," the company said.

The company is already selling Hero MotoCorp and Piaggio on this platform. It would further increase its line up with automobiles from Mahindra, Suzuki Motorcycles and Datsun will be available soon.

"Snapdeal was the first online marketplace to introduce the automobile category and we have witnessed tremendous growth with over 300,000 bikes sold since launch basis our successful partnership with Hero MotoCorp and others," Tony Navin, senior vice-president (partnerships and strategic initiatives), said.

"With the introduction of the Snapdeal Motors, we are aiming to take this to the next level and provide our customers a holistic buying experience. This is going to be a very strong platform that we believe should clock over $2 billion in sales over the next two years," he added. The company said that platform has been designed to facilitate easy catalogue exploration.
