Inditex Group has filed an application to develop Massimo Dutti stores in India through a joint venture with Tata Group

Inditex, the Spain-based retail giant has filed an application to the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) to open Massimo Dutti stores across India through a joint venture with Tata Group. The news was confirmed with VJ Media Works exclusively over email.

The news about Inditex entering India, comes after a number of global players in the fashion and apparel retail sector -  like Tesco, IKEA, Walmart and Hennes & Mauritz group (H&M) -  are gearing towards entering the Indian market through last year's relaxed legislation which allows foreign retailers enter the Indian market in order to boost investment from abroad.

Inditex has more than 6,000 stores in 86 markets worldwide and owns brands like Zara, Pull&Bear, Massimo Dutti, Bershka, Stradivarius, Oysho, Zara Home and Uterqüe.
