Squats targets 120+ wellness centres across India by 2020

By Satarupa Chakraborty | July 10, 2018

Started as a social media group two years back to encourage fitness, Squats plans to embark on its offline journey to set up a network of wellness centres starting with 10 in smaller towns and targets 120+ outlets across the country by 2020.

Pune-based online fitness consultation platform, SQUATS is slated to launch 10+ diet and wellness centres across Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Pune, Raipur and Bangalore, while aiming to open 120+ outlets across other parts of the country by 2020. Unlike other fitness-related businesses, SQUATS started as a revolution on Facebook in 2016 to enable its community members to get healthy. It was initiated to address the challenges in the fitness industry where misinformation, distrust, unsatisfactory results, quick-fix solutions, and fad diets were impacting the industry’s reputation. The platform today has a team of 130+ consultants and 400,000 retained members reaching out to it via online channel.

Commenting on the development, Jyoti Sehrawat Dabas, Director- Strategy and Planning, “We are quite excited about our offline debut considering how our clients from across the country as well as abroad are satisfied and reliant on us for taking them through their fitness journey.  While we will be launching these 10+ centres across tier-1 and 2 cities in the current financial year to reach out to segments that are inaccessible for a variety of reasons, we are targeting 120+ centres across India including tier 3 cities by 2020. Our motive is to make the task of staying fit and healthy extremely easy for even someone sitting in Surat or Aurangabad. They should be able to open SQUATS website for their diet or training plans and also meet the fitness consultants for any queries related to their fitness goals.”
