Team Ha’art bags the VM Challenge Award this year at In-Store Asia 2018

VM Challenge’, a one-of-a-kind live window display contest in India for the visual merchandising community, held at In-Store Asia 2018 in Mumbai was won by Team Ha’art led by Veronika Morson of ONLY, while Team Organika led by Marthy Bermejo of Home Centre bagged the runners up award. The contest brought 42 participants from 15+ companies.

VM Challenge’, a one-of-a-kind live window display contest in India for the visual merchandising community, held at In-Store Asia 2018 in Mumbai was won by Team Ha’art led by Veronika Morson- Head Visual Merchandiser, ONLY (supported by Aarati and Purvita from ABRFL, Pankaj Rawat and Purusottam Sharma of Arvind Lifestyle, Nandkishor Sonawane from Raymond and Jalyi from ONLY) , while Team Organika led by Marthy Bermejo, Deputy General Manager, Visual Merchandising, Home Centre (supported by Rashmi from ABRFL, Sushil Kumar and Rahul Jaiswal from Arvind Lifestyle, Akanksha Gupta and Supriya from Raymond and Kanika Srivastava from Titan Company), bagged the runners up award. The other teams were led by Shruthi Sinha, Manager – VM, Tata - Trent (Team Aasana), Gunjan Shedha Director, Muted Space (Team Movisque), Namrata Sachdev, Creative Director, NVISAGE (Team ) Anchored by Surender Gnanaolivu, Senior Consultant – Retail Experience and Consulting Editor of VM&RD magazine for the 5th time in the history of the event, VM Challenge this time was led by 6 leaders from 2 retailers ( Trent & Home Center), 2 brands (Van Heusen and ONLY) and 2 VM agencies (NVISAGE and Muted Space) and brought some 42 participants in total from companies like Titan, Raymond, Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail, Lifestyle International, Kama Ayurveda, Central, ONLY and many more. For the first time, the teams were given different products categories, each based on consumer lifestyle (i.e, Grooming, Eating, Exercising, Travelling, Dressing and Personal Care) and each team was briefed by 6 clients selected by VJ Media from the pool of delegates. Interestingly, the windows had to be created with a brief of being located in a crowded metro stations and props were selected carefully to suit each of those 6 categories.

A jury consisting senior display practitioners from overseas and India – Joe Baer, Co-Founder and Creative Executive Officer, ZenGenius, Inc.; David Kepron, Vice President – Design Global Design Strategies, Marriott International; Jack Ribbas - Chief Creative Officer at Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail and Vishal Kapoor, Group Chief Design Officer at Future Group India, the winners were selected on the basis of relevance, impact, styling and creative use of materials. Mannequins were supplied by Tranz and Vinyl by 3M.

The winners were awarded during the VM&RD Retail Design Awards 2018 held later in the evening.
