Unlimited plans to open a few stores in North and East, but with focus on strengthening its retail presence in South and West markets.

Unlimited, the value fashion brand from Arvind Lifestyle Brands, plans to ramp up its retail footprint and open 38 stores in the financial year FY 17-18. At present the Unlimited brand has 49 stores with the new identity, which is typically false between 7,000 to 10,000 sq ft. "We plan to open a few stores in North and East, but our focus is strengthening our presence in South and West markets," shares Shekar CS, CEO, Unlimited.

He added that the value fashion category across the globe shows that it has the propensity to deliver well, with a growth of 30-40% year-on-year. "Coming from the house of Arvind, there is a strong focus on fabric quality besides offering apparel at competitive prices. In our transition from Megamart to Unlimited, our focus shifted from the highly saturated menswear segment to women's wear specially in ethnic & fusion wear and kids wear too. We see huge growth opportunity in these categories," Shekar added.

Towards the end 2015, Arvind created its new value department chain branded Unlimited by converting large stores of Megamart that has been struggling to shed its discount format image and sell premium brands without discount.
