Vijay Basrur, Himanshu Chakrawarti to speak on e-com & retail at In-Store Asia 2015

Vijay Basrur, Head-eCommerce, Raymond Ltd & Himanshu Chakrawarti, CEO, The MobileStore to address a session on'Creating New Retail Experiences In Times Of E-Com Explosion'

Rapid growth of e-commerce business in is seemingly exerting new competitive pressures on traditional brick'n mortal retail businesses. Key facets of retail business, such as, customer engagement, retail design, visual merchandising and in-store branding are undergoing changes in the wake of the e-commerce explosion.
 
Vijay Basrur, Head-eCommerce, Raymond Ltd and Himanshu Chakrawarti, CEO, The MobileStore will throw light on this development while addressing the session on "Creating New Retail Experiences In Times Of E-Com Explosion" on Day 1 of In-Store Asia 2015, being organised at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai during February 5-7, 2015.

Basrur has more than 18 years of experience across technology, digital, mobile and e-commerce spheres. Prior to his joining Raymond, he was the founder of OKListen.com, a digital music platform which helps independent musicians monetise their music. He was a part of the founding team which launched Quikr.com and grew it to be Indian's leading classifieds website. He was also with INOX, India's leading movie exhibition chain, since inception and implemented an organisation-wide ERP product along with launching their e-commerce and mobile commerce initiatives. With his roles at OKListen and also with Baazee.com & Synqua Mobile Games, Basrur brings along a deep understanding of consumer behaviour on Internet & mobile.

Chakrawarti is the CEO of The MobileStore Limited since April 2011. The MobileStore, promoted by the Essar Group, is India's largest telecom retailer, with over 700 stores, spread across over 90 cities. The MobileStore is the pioneer in innovative solutions for the Indian market with concepts like the experiential lounge format, making smartphones affordable through multi-bank EMIs, the impending launch of EMI on debit cards, innovative accessories centred on the internet of things and an industry best-in-class e-commerce site.

Prior to this he worked with Trent Limited for over ten years. His last assignment was as the COO of Landmark, the largest book & music retailer in India with large stores in most major cities.
