Vodafone unveils 5 Global Design Stores on a single day in Kolkata

With over 165 stores, Vodafone has consolidated its position having one of the largest exclusive retail footprint in Kolkata.

Following the'Customer First' approach, Vodafone launched five Global Design Stores at Baghajatin, B.T Road and VIP Road in Kolkata, Lilua in Howrah and one in Barrackpore. Pursuing an aggressive retail growth strategy in Kolkata, Vodafone has already launched eight Vodafone Stores (VS) and 12 Vodafone Mini Stores (VMS) in the last 12 months.

Talking about the initiatives taken by Vodafone to enhance customer experience and retail expansion, Anand Sahai, Business Head - Kolkata and Rest of Bengal Circle, Vodafone India, said, "With the largest retail footprint in the country, Vodafone believes in remaining accessible to our valued customers across urban and rural locations. Our latest retail expansion in Kolkata with the launch of five new Global Design Stores on a single day is led by this same customer centricity focus. I am proud to say that is a reaffirmation of our retail leadership in the city.”

Vodafone's Global Design Stores, will offer an array of services through special designated zones such as 3G Zone to discover and experience mobile internet, Vodafone Red Zone; a post-paid service, m-pesa Zone; the mobile money transfer service, Self Service Kiosk; a 24×7 facility for bill payment and recharge service, Vodafone Red Box; to enable customers to transfer content from an existing handset to a new age smart phone for free.

Sahai also added, "The consumer has always been at the heart of everything we do. Understanding the market dynamics and with more customers adopting smart phones and mobile internet, we have taken an innovative approach in retail design. The new Global Design Store with a simple, warm and friendly design and an ever welcoming and engaging staff will give a one-stop shop experience to our customers. Being sensitive to the evolving customer needs, Vodafone has also taken the lead to develop user friendly digital interface opportunities that allow customers to access our wide spectrum of services'on-the-go' and'hassle-free'.”

Continuing their retail expansion strategy across India, Vodafone has launched more than 160 Vodafone Stores and over 1000Vodafone mini stores across India in FY 14-15. Today, with over 9800 stores, Vodafone has one of the largest exclusive retail footprint in telecom in the country.
