Zara plans to open stores in Chennai and Jaipur

The leading fashion retailer recently forayed into Punjab with the launch of its first store in Chandigarh, taking the total count to ten stores across India.

Zara, the fashion concept owned by Inditex Group, plans to expand its retail footprint in India by opening its outlet in Jaipur and Chennai soon. However, the company has not disclosed the exact date of the launch of these new stores. Recently, Zara opened its store at Elante, the largest mall in Chandigarh, marking Inditex's foray in Punjab. With this store, Zara now has ten stores in India.
The store encompassing more than 22,594 sq ft spread over two floors in which the Women, Men and Kids collections are displayed to customers looking for trendy and fashionable products. According to the company's press release, the store image is based on four principles: beauty, clarity, functionality and sustainability. The store's design primarily emphasizes simplicity as part of their on-going mission to facilitate direct contact with customers making shopping simple and special experience for customers.
Zara is owned by the Inditex Group, parent company with other seven fashion brands, and one of the largest fashion retailers in the world. Inditex signed with Tata Group an agreement to form a joint venture to develop Zara stores in India in February of 2009 and opened its first Zara stores in India in 2010. Currently, the company has ten Zara stores in India located in Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore, Pune and now Chandigarh.
