VM&RD Retail Design Awards 2018 : Kohler Experience Center

As its first global flagship in India, the Kohler Experience Centre spread across 10,000 sq ft in Delhi, is a unique attempt by Kohler to create a hands-on Immersive experience of their entire product range and technology behind the product.  It celebrates innovation and diversity of style in a dynamic, studio-like environment that invites designers and architects to use the space as an extension of their own offices.

A material palette of stained Birch, natural concrete floor with brass inserts, large format tiles, black and white Italian Marble, lacquered mild steel and White Ash timber was used to achieve a sense of cohesiveness that would bind the immersive narrative created for the brand. Fully-functioning displays in the Lab also successfully addressed challenges of plumbing and drainage in the basement to create an enhanced product experience. A brand timeline with key markers was created to wrap around the timber, lacquered mild steel and marble staircase connecting the two floors. The markers were also embedded into the floor as brass inserts as subtle accents. One of the major highlights was the idea of different modular displays systems such as the stained birch plyon slotted angles systems in the Warehouse, which were specifically developed to give Kohler unlimited opportunity to add and showcase products with ease and without disrupting the activities of the space.
