In an interaction with retail4growth, Sharad Dabra shares about the SD Fine Arts growth journey and the current trends in the retail design industry.

Brief us about ‘SD Fine Arts” and the journey so far?

We at SD Fine Arts work to enhance the patrons experience when they visit a property or retail outlet.  We started our journey in 2014, and since then we have been creating amazing interiors for varied industry clients of corporate, F&B, fitness and many other premium segments. We are recognised as a modern art company in the industry as we use modern technologies to stay on the top. We always try to offer good customer experience through our artistic interiors where we use exclusive set of works to beautify the spaces. In addition, we also have an online portal for ordering customised artworks for corporate gifting as well as other purposes.

Are you currently working on retail design projects?

Indeed, we are primarily focusing on the retail sector for future projects and we have been continuously working on the same even now. We get 80% of the projects from retail where we implement diverse creative themes. The rest 20% comprises of residential projects or personalised artworks.

What are retailers looking for in terms of retail design these days?

In my small journey, I have observed that the industry is evolving constantly for the betterment. Almost every brand is unique in its own way; however there are some sure elements that everyone wants to try out in their stores. Consumers’ interest is primary distress for all, but it is no quick fix, as consumers’ expectations keeps changing rapidly. As many of them continue to boost their customers experience by offering them a great ambience, some others ask for a right mix of colours and entertainment. Many of them also look for a smooth experience and timely delivery of work.

Tell us something more about your projects and your approach to design?

We always try to create the right design concept for every brand and have delivered master pieces in the form of our designs. Currently, we are obsessed with wall décor and crafted artwork including graphite artwork, charcoal artwork, paper cutting art work, scribble artwork, wooden cut work etc. Our NERDY BEANS project is wonderful example of versatile creativity while The Escape ambiance has a college themed section which reminds of the fun that everyone had in those days. For BURGRILL, a quickly grown fast food chain with multi number of outlets across Tri-city, Punjab and Delhi, we have given preference to exclusive forms of art like nails knitted with Thread. Moreover, to bring satisfaction to our clients every time we have used a new type of artistic interiors to give them different look all along maintaining quality and exclusivity.

What is your design philosophy?

Our design philosophy is to create things in varied forms which trigger thoughts of the people as to how wonderfully a theme or a message is expressed through the décor. We do by sometimes keeping it simple, yet completely insane, at times. Whatever we do, we pursue wholeheartedly and this helps us create amazing things to evoke the feelings of consumers.

Tell us about your team.

The core team of SD Fine Arts houses artists, designers and architects who create imaginative interiors. They all are masters in luxury retail outlet designing and helping in designing of a project with great precision. My team defines the quality behind our services and its execution bang on time.
