By Rita G Chauhan | December 22, 2017

Moo Cow aims to introduce Malaysian semi-processed yogurt offerings including frozen yogurt, yogurt drinks, ice-cream and lots others in India in 2018.

The Malaysian yogurt brand Moo Cow which was founded in year 2010 will enter India in March 2018. The brand will come in through an association with FranGlobal, a flagship company of Franchise India Holdings Limited. Sandra Too, Director, Moo Cow talks about expansion plans for the Indian market with Retail4Growth. Edited excerpts.

What are business expansion plans in India?

We are targeting to launch our first outlet by March 2018. We are going to follow a phased approach for further expansion to capture the Indian market. Basically our main plan is to cover the market with partners who are equipped to handle manufacturing as well as distribution activities for the brand.

How many outlets you are planning to open in the next fiscal?

Our initial target is to have 5-7 outlets operating by the end of next fiscal.

Tell us about your product line and brand's USP.

We believe three factors which will make our product range fly off in India are good taste, healthy and are reasonable price. We produce our own fresh yogurt daily at Moo Cow’s factory, which we use in the manufacturing of each of our yogurt product including other early stage unprocessed raw ingredients. We serve Fresh yogurt, Greek yogurt, yogurt drink, yogurt slushie, yogurt juice, yogurt ice cream and many other yogurt products at our outlets.

What would be your key strategy to standout amongst competition in India?

We are serving healthy dessert alternatives that young kids and families can trust. All our products are with no preservative and live Active Culture. Based on the success of our existing outlets, we noticed that we have a enthusiastic and growing following of educated professionals, families with young children, teenagers as well as adults, especially the female population, looking for a healthier indulgence to other forms of sweets such as ice‐cream, or creamier alternative to gelato. We also notice some of our clients returning several times a week to satisfy their cravings for our Moo Cow yogurt
