Coronavirus spreads mainly through respiratory droplets from the cough or sneeze of an infected person. The personal aspect of food service business is the most worrisome in regards to coronavirus, as it brings with it the potential of sickness that spreads to customers through affected employees or products prepared by affected employees, or to employees through affected customers.

In response to the outbreak, several fast food and quick service restaurants – KFC, Pizza Hut, Starbucks, McDonald’s have suspended operations in the affected region till the containment of the outbreak happens.

Amidst this turmoil, they are going to be better off if they have delivery capabilities. But delivery capabilities vary from brand to brand, as does the quality of delivery. For instance, some have their own fleet of motorbikes and some have heated and chilled pouches, so they can still deliver brand integrity to the consumer. Some shifted from independent delivery mechanisms to forming a relationship with a food delivery aggregator adhering to their quality checks so they now can deliver the quality as desired by the consumer and as perceived in relation to that brand by them. The delivery chain has become the game-changer in such situations.
