Furla expands footprint in India with new store in Kolkata

Italian fashion brand Furla, known best for high-end leather products and accessories like handbags, shoes and other accessories, has opened its boutique in Quest Mall in Kolkata. The 643-sq. ft store has been designed in a manner that it captures the architectural elements of the 18th century villa in Bologna that houses the company's headquarters.

Blending tradition with modernity, the space is imbued with natural tones and pastel shades, accented with soft and warm lighting and forged with materials like rosewood, Italian travertine marble, opalescent glass and brass. Moreover, the collections are displayed in a refined and intimate setting giving prominence to the handbag collections, but it also maximises the emphasis on small leather goods and lifestyle accessories.

The launch of this store follows the company's strategic transition "from market to consumer”, focusing on local consumer preferences and their growing aspiration for premium brands and luxurious shopping experience. Commenting on the company's new footprint in Kolkata, Eraldo Poletto, CEO, Furla, said, "Along with Mumbai's store, this is our second retail location in India. The Indian economy is ready and mature to absorb fashion and luxury products.”

He added that "as a brand that underscores the values of quality and contemporary design, ensuring timeless elegance and the Made in Italy expertise, we are confident that we will have an excellent performance in India.”
