Jaguar Land Rover to open more showrooms

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), the premium luxury car maker, will open at least three showrooms across India under the company's expansion plan.

"Of the proposals in pipeline, one will be opened next month while other showrooms will come up later in July or thereafter," Rohit Suri, President of JLR (India), said Friday. The showroom planned for opening next month would be in Nagpur, he added.

The company Friday evening opened its 20th outlet in Raipur. The JLR continued to grow its distribution network and now operated 20 outlets in 18 major cities across India. The Raipur showroom that would have all range of JLR products would cater to the market demand of Chhattisgarh state.

Suri said the company had been registering impressive growth and the JLR had been exploring the option of launching new products in the country. "Our product has been accepted in India and the focus would be to enhance the sale," he said, adding that the opening of new showrooms was part of the exercise.

The company had identified the potential centres for entering into the market. "At least, five to six proposals of opening showrooms across India had been in the various stage of built," Suri said. The company had set the target of opening three in the current and coming quarter of the fiscal 2014-15.

Suri said he was delighted to open the first showroom in Chhattisgarh state that had good potential for the luxury cars. Spread over 50,000 square feet of area, it would be state-of-the-art showroom that could display eight cars.
