The brand will enter new markets like Bangalore and Gujarat by next financial year with their EBO’s.

Karma Kettle, situated at Swinhoe Street, Ballygunge Place in Kolkata is the new hotspot for the tea-lovers of the city of joy. Having tested the market with their online store, the brand has now gone into the offline retail channel with some rare varieties of tea having their assets and discerning minutes. Karma Kettle is the brainchild of Dhiraj & Priti Sen Arora. “In early 2013 both of us went out to set up the online tea company- Karma Kettle focusing purely on retailing teas through e-commerce platform. Karma Kettle is a tea company that is inspired by our travels across the globe, creating unique blends of teas and tisanes. With a special emphasis on creative packaging and ingredients- Karma Kettle has gradually started earning a fan following in India”, informs Priti.

Today having an omni-channel retail presence, the brand is currently focusing on expanding their tea range and looking at exporting their teas in foreign shores as well. Apart from their EBO it is retailed through their online store as well as from various ecommerce portals and is now available in selected gourmet stores and cafes across India. Among the customers this exclusive first retail outlet of Karma Kettle in Kolkata is earning rave reviews for its unique store design and presentation of teas. Conceptualised by the husband and wife duo, the interior of the store has got a Dutch influence and hand painted fixtures with motifs and visuals representing the tea culture.

As a part of better in-store connect with the shoppers and the walk-ins that they get, both Dhiraj and Priti ensures that through various sampling of teas there is a chance for the customers to make an educated decision in buying the right tea which best meets the requirement. Priti and Dhiraj further shares, “We are looking at venturing into new markets especially Bangalore and Gujarat. Also Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi and Mumbai is very important markets for us. In east region we find much more educated customers when it comes to ‘tea as a FMCG product’ but from all these other markets as well we are getting a very good response through our online channel, thus we will be looking at coming up with physical stores as well once we consolidate our business here. Also talks are on with premium modern trade retail chains to have our products.”
