Homegrown luxury leather handbag brand GIOIA has announced the recent launch of its flagship store in Mumbai's Phoenix Market City, Kurla. This is the second store by the mother - son designer duo Diksha & Vashisht Bhatia after they opened their first store in Kolkata in September 2022. 

The company says the the design of the Mumbai store has been inspired by the aesthetics of the brand, with the interiors made into an immersive retail experience that blends luxury, craftsmanship and history. With the opening of the Mumbai flagship store, the total number of GIOIA stores in India goes up to two - Kolkata and Mumbai. The brand soon plans to open their third store in the Mall of Asia in Bangalore, in June 2023.

"We want to put the “joy” back in fashion, with shoppers eager to get back into stores after being stuck at home during the pandemic. While retailing online alone we are able to cater to everyone's needs, some people still want to be able to touch and feel the product before they are confident about the quality and craftsmanship and then make a purchase. This expansion will help us increase customer recall and fight competition,” said Diksha and Vashisht Bhatia
