The company’s latest solutions are focused on helping retailers create more engaging in-store experiences that go beyond simply installing digital screens.
Bitsy Displays, a Mumbai-based company established in 1994 that delivers premium electronic audio-video and display solutions, has expanded its retail technology portfolio with the introduction of eTags, its e-ink electronic shelf label (ESL) solution that mimics the appearance of ink on paper, immersive audio solutions that use carefully planned speakers and background sound to create the right in-store ambience for shoppers, and transparent displays that allows you to see through the LCD screen, as it strengthens its focus on helping retailers create more engaging in-store experiences.
The expanded portfolio builds on the company's existing capabilities in digital signage, self-service kiosks, engagement zones and its proprietary content management platform, Bitsy Signage, with a focus on retail digital transformation. Over the years, the company has delivered retail technology solutions for brands including Trent Limited, Birla Opus, Reliance, Aditya Birla Group, and Mahindra Finance.
Speaking about the evolving retail landscape, Satish A Villait, Director of Bitsy Displays, said, “The future of retail is personalisation. Today, customers can buy almost everything online, so what will bring them to a physical store is the experience they receive. Retailers need to create engaging environments that go beyond simply installing digital screens.”
According to Satish, glamour-led retail categories are seeing faster adoption of digital retail technologies. However, he believes many retailers still lack awareness about choosing the right display solutions. “When it comes to glamour, retailers need high-resolution displays that can capture the finer details of products, whether it's garments, jewellery or cosmetics. The visual quality plays a key role in attracting customers,” he said.
He also believes there is a growing need for better awareness around deploying audio-visual technologies in retail environments. “Many retailers are still not fully aware of how audio-visual solutions should be planned. Factors such as display placement, resolution, lighting and acoustics play a critical role in delivering the right customer experience and ensuring a better return on investment,” he said.
Looking ahead, Satish said the company's focus will be on enabling retailers to adopt technologies that create more immersive and future-ready store environments. “We see our role evolving beyond being a technology provider. We want to help retailers understand how digital technologies can be integrated to create meaningful in-store experiences that customers remember,” he added.
