Crossword, a leading book retail destination, has expanded its presence with the launch of its newest store in Powai, Mumbai. The new opening marks Crossword’s 16th store in Mumbai and takes its national footprint to 133 stores.
The newly launched store marks Crossword’s latest addition to Mumbai’s vibrant literary landscape. The store was inaugurated by Prabhat Kumar, IRS Officer and Chairman, PanIIT Alumni India (2025–2027), and lawyer Madhuri Sharma. Designed as a vibrant new reading destination, the Powai store brings together Crossword’s signature selection of bestselling titles, literary classics, contemporary fiction, non-fiction and children’s books, alongside stationery, games and thoughtfully curated gifting. Going beyond the traditional bookstore experience, the space will also create opportunities for author interactions, storytelling sessions, workshops and community-led activities.
The Powai launch forms part of Crossword’s continued expansion strategy across key cities and neighbourhoods. In addition to the new Mumbai store, the brand has further openings in the pipeline, including a store in Sainikpuri, Hyderabad, and another at Bailey Square Mall, Patna.
