Bringing an experience of 20 yrs in visual merchandising, Diptendu believes that there is a lot of scope to elevate the visual experience for CaratLane and create engaging store experiences for modern consumers.
CaratLane, a Tata product and India's leading omnichannel fine jewellery brand, has appointed Diptendu Shekhar Saha as Director – Visual Merchandising. He brings 20 years of experience in the field and will help elevate the visual experience for India's most contemporary and accessible jewellery brand.
Diptendu has consistently pushed the boundaries of retail design and in-store storytelling. In his most recent role at Samoh by Trent Ltd, he led the VM function and introduced a distinctive, forward-thinking approach to the Indian retail landscape. His standout contributions include conceptualising and designing the iconic Samoh store on Indiranagar's 100 Feet Road in Bengaluru, along with several other locations across the country.
His work at Samoh challenged conventional retail norms by demonstrating how a store can communicate a powerful visual identity without relying heavily on traditional in-store graphics or signage. Diptendu's philosophy emphasises minimalism, spatial storytelling, and experiential design — transforming retail environments into immersive spaces that resonate with customers on a deeper level.
Speaking about his new role, Diptendu said, "I'm very excited to be part of CaratLane. There is a lot of scope to elevate the visual experience for the brand and create engaging store experiences for modern consumers. Coming back to CaratLane and the jewellery segment feels like home, connecting me with my earlier work at Titan."
