The 45-year old saree retail brand from Delhi, House of Raisons, plans to spread its store network in other major metropolises followed by smaller cities as well. the brand has recently created a new retail design entity with city-based Studio Lotus.
Talking to Retail4growth in length regarding expansion plans and retail design, Gaurav Gupta, Creative & Business Head, House of Raisons, commented, “Even though being a trusted brand in saree retail for the last 40-45 years, we had just one store in the capital till 2005. After reaching out to the NCR markets, we realised that opening 10 stores in one city may not be the best idea. Therefore, we plan to go beyond this region by opening one store each in other major metros to begin with, before we venture out in the markets of smaller cities. We recently came out of a “saree shop” format and did justice to the retail design in line with what the brand stands for – handcrafted and pure. We would like to replicate the same design for our initial next set of store launches. If we diversify our product offerings later, we may change the store design as well but that may take a few years of time.”
