Kolahoi Green Group introduces India’s first Igloo cafe in Kashmir

The newly opened cafe in Gulmarg has tables made of ice and snow and can accommodate 16 people at a time.


Initiated by the Kolahoi Green Group of Hotels and Resorts, the Igloo cafe at Gulmarg in Kashmir is a one-of-a-kind restaurant experience that creates sensation all over the internet. Claimed to be India’s first Igloo cafe, the space located at the ski resort is 15 feet high and 26 feet wide.

The newly opened restaurant is inspired from the Arctic shelters along with a few local touches. With an arched doorway and patters on the wall, the cafe can accommodate 16 guests at a time. It also features tables made of ice and snow.

In conversation with ANI, Hamid Masoodi, General Manager, Kolahoi Green, stated, “It is a new concept for India but already introduced in foreign countries. We have also claimed it in the Limca Book of Records. We wanted to serve our guests in a unique way with unique accommodation and the idea of doing something dramatic for the guests and patrons has worked. It has attracted a large number of tourists and this new attraction Igloo cafe has become a selfie point in Gulmarg.”
