Slated to open 15 stores in next 3 years, Thailand’s major wholesale subsidiary Makro, with its India-specific brand name LOTS, will focus on expanding within North India and NCR in next few years, while they have further plan to have national footprint in next 8-10 years.

Wholesale retailer LOTS has disclosed their plan to open 15 outlets in next 3 years and to have a national footprint in next 8-10 years. The Thailand-based leading wholesale chain Makro entered Indian market with their India-specific branded wholesale identity, LOTS, earlier this year.

In an exclusive chat with Rertail4Growth, Sameer Singh, Director – Operations, Business Development and Expansion and Tanit Chearavanont, Managing Director, LOTS, shared, “We brought our first store spanning across 30,000 sq ft at Delhi’s Pitampura area. Our idea is to cover NCR and North India in next few years by opening 15 stores in next 3 years. We chose this region because North India has the lowest penetration of Modern Trade amongst all regions in India. It’s at only 4-5%. Our plan is to spread national footprint in a horizon of 8-10 years.”
