McDonald’s aims to expand its operations in Russia’s far east

The fast-food chain aims to widen its presence in the market and looks to open its 800th store by the end of this year


The global fast food chain, McDonald’s Corporation plans to expand its operations in Russia’s far east. It will open its first outlet at cities like Khabarovsk and Vladivostok in the transcontinental country.

“The development of a network of branches in Russia is one of the company’s top priorities. In 2020, the network is continuing to actively invest in Russia’s economy and widen its presence on the market, “stated by McDonald’s.

The brand has over 750 outlets in Russia, across 60 countries and in more than 80 regions. As a part of their expansion, they are targeting for the 800th store by the end of this year

The fast-food giant opened its first restaurant in Moscow in 1990. The brand has secured the trust of Russians through its extending branches since 30 years, and will continue to penetrate untouched areas in the country.
