Adding on the stores folio, Nicobar is going much beyond its online presence to create brick-and-mortar retail experiences through exclusive and pop-up store formats.
“We are planning to have a total of 8-10 stores across India over the next year including some interesting traditionally Tier II cities like Jodhpur that we feel are much more evolved than given credit for in terms of alignment with our brand ethos and values. Additionally, we are also exploring interesting pop up retail spaces to engage on an elevated dimension with the contemporary audience looking beyond conventional retail formats”, informed a source from Nicobar. Planned to bring the store experience to a new place, fourth edition of The Nicobar Edit (the pop-up form of the brand) is designed like an island at Kochi Biennale spanning 10 yards in length and 4 in breadth, under a white tent and festooned with tropical fronds, while the interior is pieced together like a series of vignettes and corners are punctuated with products designed for homes and wardrobes.
“We’re a design studio so a lot of our focus is on design of products. However, we also give equal importance to the sensory experience we create for our customers. While many are shutting down their brick-and-mortar homes, we’re focusing on our physical space to create a very holistic experience, where the mood is of relaxation and wanderlust,” the source added.
