Ospree Duty Free Mumbai has reported a significant surge in its electronics category sales following the launch of its exclusive tech store-in-store, TechnOspree. “Introduced in June 2024, this dedicated 200 sqm space has not only transformed the shopping experience at Terminal 2 but has also positioned Ospree as a leading destination for tech-savvy travellers seeking premium electronics at competitive duty-free prices,” says the company statement.
The company informs that prior to the Covid pandemic, the electronics category contributed a modest 1.5% to Ospree Mumbai's overall sales. Since the launch of TechnOspree, this figure has climbed impressively to approximately 6%. With an ambitious target to reach 9% in the near future, the store’s success underscores the growing consumer demand for high-quality electronics in the duty-free market
The company informs that TechnOspree is designed with a focus on enhancing customer experience. “Its modern, interactive layout allows travellers to engage with products firsthand, guided by knowledgeable staff ready to provide expert advice. This hands-on approach, combined with the allure of tax-free pricing, makes shopping at TechnOspree a compelling choice for both frequent flyers and occasional travellers,” says the company.
The store also offers a selection of eco-friendly products, including energy-efficient gadgets and devices made from recycled materials.
Avishek Bambii Das, CEO of Ospree Duty Free, commented on the launch: "We are proud to see the positive impact that TechnOspree has had on our electronics category sales. By bringing together a curated selection of the latest technology at unbeatable prices, we are not only enhancing the travel experience but also redefining the role of duty-free stores in the modern retail landscape."
