The well-known value fashion retail chain operates 130 stores across Tier 2, Tier 3 and emerging markets across seven states in India, with plans to expand its presence into more regions.
V-Bazaar Retail recently announced that it has completed 10 years, with most of its growth coming from Tier 2, Tier 3 and emerging markets of India. According to the company, the business has been built step by step, with a focus on value fashion and what works for customers in these towns.
V-Bazaar Retail currently operates across seven states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand, covering over 9.5 lakh sq. ft of retail space, and is looking to expand its presence into more regions.
The company’s press release stated that a large part of this journey has been shaped by how people actually shop in smaller markets. Buying is still majorly linked to festivals, occasions, family needs, seasons, and that has influenced everything from product choices to pricing.
Hemant Agarwal, Founder and Managing Director, V-Bazaar Retail, said the learning has come from staying close to these patterns. “We didn’t build this by following trends from bigger cities. Most of what we understand about the business has come from watching how our customers shop. In smaller towns, purchases are still need-based and tied to occasions. That has guided us from the beginning,” he shares, adding that the next phase will be about going deeper rather than changing direction.
“We see more value in understanding our existing markets better. The idea is not to overcomplicate things, but to keep improving based on what customers are already telling us through their behaviour,” Hemant explains.
To mark the 10-year milestone, the company has also rolled out a Founder’s Day campaign across digital platforms. Built using AI-led creatives, the campaign looks back at the brand’s journey over the last decade and the markets it has grown in. The video-led content is live across social media platforms, including Instagram.
