Onitsuka Tiger opens its first mono brand store in India

Reportedly the oldest living shoe brand from Japan joins the Indian retail league recently with its EBO at Mumbai’s Palladium Mall.

The oldest shoe brand from Japan, Onitsuka Tiger, has opened its first exclusive brand outlet in India at Mumbai’s popular Palladium Mall, Lower Parel. Onitsuka entered the Indian market in partnership with ASICS India. The 74.3 sq mtr store has opened its door with the flagship collection of shoes, apparels and accessories for both men and women. 

Speaking at the launch Rajat Khurana, Managing Director, ASICS India Pvt. Ltd. said "The world over Onitsuka Tiger is a brand that resonates the spirit of Japan in its collection for apparel, footwear, and accessories! Onitsuka Tiger celebrates Japanese craftsmanship, with designs ranging from updated classic silhouettes to new styles and collaborations with like-minded artists. Its athletic heritage and modern designs, make the brand aspirational for the style conscious consumer. We are delighted to present the brand."   

The brand, Onitsuka Tiger was born 1949 by Kihachiro Onitsuka who started the brand with a humble idea that sport had the power to transform lives. With about 200 stores worldwide today and constantly branching out and collaborating with a variety of creative souls from visual art to fashion designers, the brand has uplifted its sporting trademark into the fashion and lifestyle scene.
