Pizza Hut focuses on expansion, plans modification of the delivery segment

The fast food chain calibrates its plans for next year with special focus on its delivery segment and expansion especially in tier-I cities.

The American restaurant chain, Pizza Hut plans to expand its operations amidst the covid crisis, especially in tier-I cities. The company witnessed considerable rise in delivery orders and also aims to stress on the improvisation of the delivery segment.

Merrill Pereyra, MD, Pizza Hut stated, “Even when majority of the stores were shut during lockdown, we haven’t seen any dip in demand from tier-I cities where we have the maximum number of outlets. We are currently calibrating our plans for next year, but our focus will be on the delivery segment and expansion in tier-I cities.”

The food chain has upgraded its digital assets and will continue to invest in it for better sales. They have introduced the on-the-go takeaway service for customer convenience.

Commenting on the role of digital channels, Pereyra added “Digital transactions are playing a key role in this new normal and hence we are ensuring that our digital capabilities and platforms are geared to handle the increased scope. We are also using several location data and geofencing tools to enable us to increase our delivery efficiencies.”

Even when the dine-in sector has been in a slump, the company is experiencing immense increase in sales due to its far reach, enhanced takeaway facility, hassle-free digital channels and stringent precautionary measures.
