POPAI OMA awards to be judged by retail industry experts

The POPAI OMA Awards which identifies ground-breaking and effective displays at retail is all set to be judged by an eminent panel of retail industry experts. To be held on 22nd February, 2018 at In-Store Asia 2018 in Mumbai at Bombay Exhibition Centre, the esteemed ceremony recognizes the best in-store and point of purchase displays.

The 7th Edition of POPAI OMA Awards which is going to be held soon on 22nd February, 2018 at In-Store Asia 2018 in Mumbai at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, is all set to be judged by an eminent and expert panel of retail industry. Point of Purchase Advertising International (POPAI) India, is the global association for marketing-at-retail, representing OMA Awards which is a premium award show recognising the most innovative and effective in-store and point of purchase displays and honouring bigwigs from marketing & retail industry. 

The jury members of POPAI OMA Awards 2017-18 are, Darshana Shah- Head Marketing, Aditya Birla Health Insurance, Rahul Saigal - Executive Director WPP India, Anuradha Singh, Chief-Experience Design,Future Retail Ltd., Ashish Prasad- Chief Operating Officer, Construction Chemicals, Pidilite Industries Ltd., Christopher Brace - Founder & CEO, Syntegrate Consulting, Leo Van de Polder - Global Development Director- Shop! (adjudicator of the POPAI OMA Awards India),  Radhasisir Kandiraju- Category Head - Demand Procurement, Diageo India, Deepak Chakravarty, GM - Visual Merchandising & Retail Marketing,Bata India Ltd., Prashant Devatraj -  Director, Business Development and Client Services, South Asia - Ergo India Pvt. Ltd., Pierre-Alain Weill– General Secretary, POPAI France. 

On the awards, Deepak Chakravarty, GM-Visual Merchandising & Head Retail Marketing Bata India Ltd. said, “The POPAI Outstanding Merchandising Achievement (OMA) Awards celebrates the best in the designing and merchandising standards and has set a benchmark in the industry. The ever evolving retail environment has to fuel with creative expressions to deliver a superior and exciting customer experience giving the consumers a wow every time is the key to the future.”

The OMA awards has various categories. Each general category is divided into two sections- Modern Trade (MT) and Traditional or General Trade (GT)

  • 4) Personal Care
  • 5) Alcoholic Beverages, Tobacco & Allied products

  • 9) Services

Special Categories (10 - 13)

  • 10) Innovation & Technology
  • 11) Best Retail Activation
  • 12) Go Green Awards
  • 13) Display of the Year- This will be selected out of the Gold winners (not by entry)

Pierre-Alain Weill– General Secretary, POPAI France opines, “Marketing at retail is changing all over the world, faster in this last couple of years than ever but some countries themselves are changing faster than other. This is definitely the case of India.
