Portico New York to open 100 exclusive outlets in two years

With aggressive plans to increase its retail footprint across the country, Portico New York also sees online sales growing fast to become a major selling channel in the next 2~3 years.

Leading home linen brand Portico New York, has laid out an aggressive plan of opening up 2500 MBO counters and 100 exclusive outlets in India as part of their retail expansion strategy. Currently the home textile brand is present in 100 shop in shops in major retail chains across country. "All channels are equally important for our business.

 Research has shown that usually people end up buying home textile products from home stores located near to them and mostly from the same store always. Hence, geographical reach is important and necessitates presence in all formats,” said Arun Bhawsingka, CEO, Portico New York. He also added that the company is witnessing very fast growth in online sales and will become a major selling channel in the next 2~3 years.
 
Currently dominated by unorganised players, the bed & bath market in India is seeing an increase in the demand for branded products. "Bed & bath market in India is estimated at more than Rs 10,000 crore. With socio economic changes happening in the country and with people's aspirations to use branded products, there is a rapid shift happening from the unbranded to the branded products. Also, home decor has become very important to women as it represents their taste and helps them make a fashion statement.”

Portico New York has also recently tied up with Manish Arora, to launch an exclusive range in bed linen and home accessories segment.'Manish Arora for Portico' include four collections in vibrant tones and vivid patterns, which combine the aesthetics of old and new India with the comfort of the finest materials.
