Skechers India to launch exclusive online store; to have 400 exclusive stores in next 5 years

American lifestyle footwear brand Skechers will soon launch exclusive online store for the brand. The brand, with 96 standalone stores in the country today, plans to scale up the number of stores to 400 in next 5 years. Rahul Vira, CEO, Skechers South Asia, told Retail4growth, “Skechers has adopted a cautious approach in the online space as it does not support the discounted model of sale. The brand is adopting omni channel approach by integrating online and offline. In the next couple of months’ the brand will go live with www.skechers.in. Talking on the most suitable retail channel, Vira added, “We retail through various formats, like EBO, MBO and E-commerce. We have seen positive growth in all our retail formats. However, EBOs being our strongest asset has seen an exponential increase in count over the past few years.”
