T2T introduces plug-and-play structure concept for retail

Chennai-based construction products and fixture manufacturing company T2T has recently introduced a pre-fabricated plug-and-play structure concept which is suitable for various categories in retail. Developed initially for Food and Beverage (F&B) outlets, the product can be replicated for various formats of stores and reduces the installation time while minimising on-set works to a large extent. Their initial project is being rolled out at VIT Bhopal for their in-campus F&B outlet spread across approximately 1800 sq ft.

Talking about their first project, Rajmohan Aiyaswamy, CEO, T2T, explained to Retail4Growth, “As per the client brief, we wanted the space to look aspirational. We went beyond concrete structure and used the “container” concept. To tell you more on this concept, the use of containers as a building material has grown in popularity over the past years due to their inherent strength, wide availability and relatively low cost. They are more eco-friendly than traditional building materials along with robust strength and durability.”

Taking the same concept ahead, T2T is also working aggressively on “mobile retail” structures to be used specially during festivals. “What happens with retailers during festivals is that their sales certainly go up while the challenge of having static stores hampers the deep market penetration. Retailers can buy these containers and with one-time investment, they can use these structures for many years during festivals or when additional retail doors are required. We have already pitched this concept to some of the leading traditional retailers,” Rajmohan added.
