Ted Baker to bring distinctive store design for India

By Satarupa Chakraborty | June 15, 2018

Ted Baker entered India with a store, which follows a design inspired from diamonds while their upcoming two stores will draw inspiration from Indian tuktuk, taxis and English tea, Indian chai respectively. The designs are developed overseas while the stores will use Indian vendors

British luxury clothing and accessories retail company Ted Baker, upon entering Indian retail market earlier this year, will execute distinctive and exclusive retail design for each of their stores. Ted Baker, starting their retail operations in the country in partnership with Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail Ltd (ABFRL), opened a store in Delhi’s Chanakya Mall in February this year with a design concept revolving around the shape and glory of “diamonds”. Bangalore-based Elemental Fixtures had supplied fixtures to the first store. Noida-based IKIO is the lighting fixture partner for all three stores.

Slated to open two more store stores in Delhi-NCR region, one at Ambience Mall, Gurgaon and Select Citywalk Mall, Saket, the brand will use Indian influence and global spirit for their store design concept. Talking more on the design concepts, a spokesperson from the project team of International Business, ABFRL, told Retail4growth, “The upcoming Ted Baker store in Gurgaon will draw inspiration from Indian tuktuk and taxis, while the store design at Select will revolve around English breakfast tea versus Indian chai.”

The store design derivatives have come from the brand’s global headquarters while they are being executed with Indian vendors. The stores, spanning between 1700-1800 sq ft, will open doors by end of October.
