Titan launches Fastrack helmets

The brand aims to capture the unorganized market by bringing value and expects the helmet category to contribute 5% to the turnover and capture 30% of the market in the next five years.

Leading watch, jewellery and sunglass manufacturer Titan expanded its product portfolio under the Fastrack brand with the launch of a range of edgy and bold helmet range. Targeting the youth, the Fastrack  helmets aim to add a dash of style to the riding gear, with 24 different variants for men and women in vibrant colours and graphics. "We are a two wheeler country, with 20 million two-wheelers added per year. But with the number of deaths through road accidents going up and helmets being available mainly through the unorganized market which are not completely safe, comfortable or stylish, we found that the category has huge potential. Fastrack aims to bring value through quality, branding, design and pricing. Using our in-house design and marketing expertise and wide retail footprint we took a step to enter the helmets sector,” said Bhaskar Bhat, MD, Titan Company Ltd.

Adding to that, Ronnie Talati, VP & CMO - Watches & Accessories Division, Titan Company Ltd said, "Being in the business of youth fashion accessories, helmets were a natural extension for us after watches, sunglasses and bags. Launching this helmet range would keep a firm grasp on the capricious youth market.”

Priced between Rs 1495 and Rs 3495, the Fastrack range of helmets will be currently sold through its 147 brand stores, which is expected to reach 200 stores across India at the end of the current fiscal. Going further the product will also be sold on online shopping portals, MBOs, large formt stores and department stores.

The brand expects the helmet category to contribute 5% to the turnover, and capture 30% of the market (estimated to be Rs 800 crore) in the next five years.
