The new Fabindia Home outlet in Kolkata seems the final destination for those looking to add an ethnic touch to their home interiors.

Fabindia Home, the luxury furniture decor outlet at 15/1 Hindustan Park in Kolkata, is the new destination for Kolkatans who dig ethnic stuff to enhance the look of their homes. The 2000 sq. ft. retail hub is an apt ensemble of accessories to adorn the house. What's more, located in a high-end fashion street of South Kolkata, the outlet is right where its target consumers are. Debjani Sengupta, Store Manager, Fabindia Home shares in this regard, "Our furniture range is ever expanding and we were not being able to do justice to it. We were looking for a space close to our flagship store and luckily, found this one which is just right next to the existing eastern India outlet.”

The whole interior decor of the space has been completed within a span of two months, and has been conceptualised by the in-house team of Fabindia. The architectural plan of the building exudes a cosy and warm feel as soon as one steps in. The front facade is minimalist with a wooden touch which leads the customers to the front hall decked up in an array of merchandise against a backdrop of wooden frames and crafted lighting displays from their own collection.

The space has been laid out in an actual furnished apartment-like manner divided into two master bedrooms, a balcony, two smaller bedrooms, two dining rooms, a toilet et al. The idea was to inspire customers with ideas to do up their homes displaying a range, from top-line wooden furniture to an incredible assortment of upholstery.

All the'rooms' have been intricately designed keeping in mind the essential requirements of a person who would be coming to shop there and the merchandise displayed effectively serve the purpose of the props, which the brand wanted to showcase. Thus varied shades for different rooms further add vibrancy to the whole space. A modular bedroom with a dresser, two drawers, a shelf with a mirror, a study table with a chair, two bedside tables, all with green upholstery ranging from cushions to curtains, bed linen to table covers, offer a soothing natural tone to the whole decor.

The lighting arrangement has been divided into two categories. To lit up the whole space yellow CFL lights have been deployed and to create a dramatic ambience, several beautiful lamp shades from the signature collection of Fabindia Home have been utilised which would surely grab the attention of the customers.  Similarly, the flooring too has been planned meticulously. Explains Debjani, "We have used complete wooden flooring deliberately for all the four bedrooms, as it gives a very cosy feeling. For the rest of the sections, white  vitrified tiles have been used and due to this, the area looks bigger as well. Simplicity is the key element we focus on while designing our line of products and the decor as well. It is our belief that this quality makes us different from others and whoever walks in just falls in love with Fabindia Home.”
