Vodafone launches'Global Design Store' in Kolkata

The retail design for the store is based on certain core principles such as clear navigation, iconic service areas, signature elements and design flexibility to fit stores of various sizes and shapes.

Vodafone recently introduced their latest retail innovation in Kolkata to provide a live and more engaging experience of the brand's wide variety of products and services to its customers. Spread over 660 sq ft, Vodafone's Global Design Store is in line with Vodafone's'Retail of Tomorrow' initiative to deliver unmatched retail experience to its customers.  

The retail design for the store is based on certain core principles such as having clear and intuitive navigation, where tools aid customers and provide technical support. The store also include an'Iconic' service area, where interactivity is at the heart of the store. The space takes on a premium look and feel, promising premium service but mass-market accessibility. The store design is flexible to fit a variety of stores in different shapes and sizes. Economies of scale and central procurement make high quality materials accessible to all their markets. To maintain consistency,'Signature' elements have been included to define the stores' uniform look and feel globally.

Speaking on this new retail initiative, Anand Sahai, Business Head, Kolkata and Rest of Bengal Circle, Vodafone India said, "The consumer has always been at the heart of everything we do. Vodafone is at the forefront to introduce innovative concepts, products and services that enrich the lives of our customers. Hence, keeping in mind the trend of increasing smart phone penetration and mobile internet usage, we have taken an innovative approach in retail design. The Global Design Store with an easy and simple design, welcoming and engaging staff will provide a one-stop shop experience platform for our customers.”

He adds further, "Our aim is to give the same look and feel to all our customers across the world as one steps into a Vodafone store. This our second launch in this region after Siliguri to take forward this endeavour. Here the various products and services are well segmented to meet the evolving needs and expectations of the customers. We will be opening more stores following this same design format. This is the nineteenth store in Kolkata and we have 39 stores in this entire state of West Bengal.”

Vodafone at present has one of the largest exclusive retail footprints in the country with over 8800 stores.
