By Swaminathan Balasubramanian | October 23, 2018

‘Corporate Collars on Wheels’ replicates its showroom experience in a vehicle. Offering close to 1400 fabrics to choose from in store, this unique concept allows the customer to create his/her own unique look by designing and customising their own shirts, suits, and trousers. Retail4Growth catches up with Harssh Chheda, founder of the company, to find out more.

Corporate Collars, claimed to be first-of-its-kind in India, replicates its showroom in a vehicle. Launched in October 2013, Corporate Collars is Mumbai’s leading premier custom tailoring retail store having two stores in Mumbai and one in Raipur. Offering close to 1400 fabrics to choose from in store, this unique concept allows the customer to create his/her own unique look by designing and customising their own shirts, suits, and trousers.

Harssh Chheda, founder of the company who is in his mid-twenties is a typical 'Mumbaikar' who is frustrated wasting his time on travel. Out of his personal experience of getting late to an important meeting, he started understanding the pain-points of his customers who had to come to his store beating the heavy traffic. He decided to reach out to them through an innovative concept called ‘Corporate Collars on Wheels’.

On Wheels

‘Corporate Collars on Wheels’ is a Van which houses all the facilities a store has. The vehicle works as a showroom with wheels in different areas of Mumbai - Walkeshwar, Peddar Road, Nariman Point, Cuffe Parade, Lower Parel, Elphinstone Road, Dadar, Bandra, Powai, Vikhroli, Andheri, Vile Parle, Malad, Kandivali, and Borivali. The biggest challenge according to Harssh is replicating the store experience on wheels. “We had spent much time in understanding and analysing what type of experience a customer would expect out of us and we designed the vehicle accordingly. We are able to replicate the experience in the vehicle too.”, he says. The van can be booked according to the convenience of the customer. At a time, close to 4 customers can stand in the van which has close to thousand fabrics, a stylist and a master stylist and a trial room.  The van is fully equipped with uninterrupted power supply and covers every nook and corner of Mumbai.

Expansion Plans

According to Harssh, expansion means sustainable growth. “We source fabrics from different parts of the world, specialised machinery from Italy and Switzerland, threads from Germany and the promise of the perfect fit. When we look into the detailing in every stitching we make, we are equally interested in having a strong foothold based on the customer responses”, he says further other adding that, Corporate Collars would be expanding in places like Pune, New Delhi and Bengaluru based on customer feedback.
