The Italian brand specialising in bags, fashion accessories, luggage and travel trolleys enters the Indian market in partnership with Neopolis Brands and launched its first store at Phoenix Market City Mall, Whitefield, Bengaluru. The brand plans to open more than 100 stores across India.

Carpisa, the Italian brand offering women's and men's bags, luggage, accessories and small leather goods, has officially entered the Indian market with the opening of its first store at Phoenix Market City Mall, Whitefield, Bengaluru. Kuvera S.p.A. (Carpisa), based in Napoli, has entered a long-term licensing agreement with Neopolis Brands to develop the brand strongly in India with a plan of opening more than 100 stores.

Reflecting on the brand’s entry into India, Maurizio Carlino, Carpisa Chief Executive Officer, said, “With it scale, energy and rapidly evolving consumer landscape, we see India as a key pillar in our international growth strategy, with very strong expectations for the future. We are especially pleased to partner with Neopolis Brands, whose vision, expertise and deep understanding of the local market give us great confidence in the success of this project. We believe this collaboration can become a benchmark for our future international developments.”

Along with the flagship store at Phoenix Market City mall, Carpisa will also launch shop-in-shops at Shoppers Stop at Bannerghatta and a pop-up store at Brigade Orion Mall at Rajajinagar. The brand collection will also be simultaneously available through the brand website and key online portals, including Myntra, Nykaa and Tata Cliq.

Speaking about the brand’s ‘mass-tige’ positioning, that offers global design with sharp pricing, Shailesh Chaturvedi, Chairman, Neopolis Brands, said, “Carpisa offers us opportunity of turning another international brand into India’s success story with its strengths in high growth categories such as handbags, accessories and travel products where India sees a mismatch between large addressable market and limited organized play, thus offering strong headroom for long term growth”.

According to the brand, handbags will be a priority category for Carpisa in India, catering to a wide audience ranging from Gen Z to millennial consumers.

The 2,500 sq ft Bengaluru flagship marks the beginning of Carpisa's India journey, with Neopolis Brands set to expand the brand's footprint across key metropolitan markets. Shailesh adds that by the end of the year, the brand should have three to four stores in Bangalore itself. “As the first city, Bangalore is a test launch. We will test out all channels — e-commerce, offline, shop-in-shops, exclusive stores — see the results, modify, and then go national from February–March next year.”

The store launch was attended by Giandomenico Milano, the Consul General of Italy in Bengaluru, alongside actor and style icon Sobhita Dhulipala, in presence of prominent personalities from Bengaluru’s fashion, business and media fraternity.

Carpisa pricing in India will include women handbags in the price range of Rs. 4000 to Rs. 6000 while Gen Z focussed sling bags will be priced at around Rs. 3000 to Rs. 4000.
