Originally designed by renowned architect Charles Correa, this iconic house in Koramangala has sheltered Fabindia for thirty years. Today, the store has been restored to balance the nostalgic charm while meeting the retail sensibilities of a new era.

Fabindia, one of India's most beloved lifestyle brands, has unveiled the restored and renovated Fabindia Experience Centre in Koramangala, Bangalore by breathing new life into a space that has been part of the neighbourhood's fabric for three decades.

The building itself carries a distinguished legacy, originally designed by renowned Indian architect Charles Correa. Fabindia adopted and adapted the structure over 30 years ago to house their home experience store, and over time, it evolved into one of Koramangala's most memorable retail destinations, cherished as much for its nostalgic architectural charm as for the brand it represented.

The restored space thoughtfully balances this heritage with contemporary retail sensibilities. While retaining the structure's defining architectural features like its courtyards, sloping roofs, and trees, the renovation has improved category flow, elevated merchandise displays, and enhanced the overall customer experience. It has also enabled a vertical expansion of the store, adding an entirely new floor plate that broadens the retail offering.

Alongside the refreshed store interiors, the Experience Centre introduces a host of new offerings: the Fabexperience zone, which showcases curated apparel looks; FabOne : the brand’s concierge services; and an upcoming café that completes the immersive experience.

Architectural planning and design were led by Bangalore-based FRDC (Future Research Design Company), whose scope spanned interior design, store façade, MEP coordination, landscape design, and more.

Look out for our in-depth feature on this project, coming soon.
