VM&RD Retail Design Awards 2018 : Blown Studio

Health & Beauty – Specialty Store; Project : Blown Studio; Merit : Dutta Kannan Architects

Located in the CBD of Bangalore and spread across 1000 sq ft, Blown Studio is a unique space that house a beauty salon along with a full service Wine bar. The narrow lofty space has a small mezzanine carved into it overlooking the lofty open space below. A stunning bronze mirror wall, creates an illusion of a extended space while the metallic paint on the mezzanine roof further extends this illusion. A subtle blue wall compliments the bronze mirror wall and the ceiling is a simple metal grid painted in black. This offers the perfect backdrop for three stunning hand blown glass chandeliers placed above. A full service wine bar has a beautiful back-lit onyx as a backdrop. As a unique feature,  rotating floor mirrors allow maximum configurations of the space and social interactions.
