The leading bakery brand of Bangalore plans to open 50 more kiosks by next year.

Recently going into a master franchisee roll out plan, Bangalore-based bakery brand Brea is coming up up with 6 more exclusive kiosks in Bangalore by next month and has further plan to roll out about 50 more outlets by next year in the city itself. Currently, Brea has 4 such kiosks in Food World at Sadashivanagar, Banaswadi, Divyashree Tech Park and at Malleswaram.

On the brand journey and future plans, Dianath Khan, Managing Director, Brea Foods Pvt Ltd, told Retail4growth, "Though we are the third generation in bakery business, Brea as a brand was conceived just 2 years back. Prior to that, we were majorly into institutional supplies and realized that bread as a segment was a huge neglect. That prompted us to create brand recognition and loyalty and we started with 8 SKUs, which was pretty big at that juncture.

We came up with authentic bread variants and expanded our folio. Today, apart from our master franchisee rollout, we are present through 80 leading general outlets which also include unorganized modern trade." Bangalore-based shopper marketing agency Brandvak has created their brand story and exclusive packaging. Bijitesh Mallik of Brandvak told Retail4growth, "It was an exciting journey to prep up an age-old brand and we are happy that Brea bread packaging is attracting huge attention at GT outlets in Bangalore."

On moving beyond Bangalore, Khan responded, "Moving beyond would require us to set up production facility in other cities too. If we happen to find the right franchisee partner, we may expand." Brea is also entering into packaged premium cookie segment working in line with Iyengar style bakery. The packaging will be ethnic, which will be new in that segment.
